Style, Glamour And Flare At The Bangkok International Fashion Fair

Billed as one of the finest fashion fairs in Southeast Asia, the annual Bangkok International Fashion Fair is a much looked-forward-to event that draws the fashion-conscious populations of Thailand and beyond. Famed as an event that promotes the local fashion industry, the event profile of BIFF (as it is affectionately known) is a fashion show cum business event where retail giants, designers, fashion institutes and garment manufacturers from 10 ASEAN nations come together in a celebration and an exhibition of talent like no other. A brainchild of the Department of Export Promotion, the yearly fair has garnered the worlds attention and has grown in size and scope since its inception. Highlights in the 2009 instalment of the show included the coveted fashion shows by local and renowned brands as well as new designers who are set to revolutionize the industry in the years to come. These included the Resort Wear, Fashion Network USA and the Royal Project collections while The Perfect Made show displayed fine Silks, Textiles and Fashion Accessories and the Speed of Fashion shed light on Islamic fashion trends.

The special showcases on offer included many exhibitions devoted to diverse collective of designers and brands. Some of the most popular exhibits included the Young Designer Zone, Thai Tex Trend, Thai Designer Zone and the Designers Room Exhibition which was divided in to three sections dubbed Now, Next and the Design Circle. Exhibits dealing with Textile Innovation were also part of the program in addition to numerous conferences and seminars for fashion stakeholders with a focus on fashion and management issues.

With nearly 1,200 booths spread out across the exhibition floor, visitors will have their pick of domestic and global showcases to choose from. Offering guests transportation and shuttle services as well as a host of other facilities including a currency exchange, kids kingdom play room and prayer room, the event space also hosts several food and beverage outlets for added convenience.
