What maternity size do you choose when you are pregnant? During your pregnancy it is usually considered you will still wear your normal dress size, unless you have gained a lot of weight or are expecting twins or multiples then you should expect to go up a size or two.

You might find some variables between brands and in that case then it is best to check each manufacturer's size chart. Some styles might be made to be more fitted and grow/stretch with your bump or generous more like traditional maternity clothing but not quite like the big tents you were expected to wear 10-15 years ago but clothing that will look fashionable without forsaking on comfort and allow for bump growth.

How to dress for your body type?

Pear - Common body type. You will have a slim neckline and shapely shoulders. To work with an over heavy bottom half choose a top that will balance out your overall look. Empire tops will show off your bust and patterns will especially draw attention up and away from your bottom half.

Apple - Is more of a challenging body type to dress. You will have slim arms and legs which you can take advantage of especially when it comes to fashion trends like maternity leggings and tunic tops. Stay away from tops that show too much bust or go for tops that have a privacy layer for nursing.

HourGlass - Feminine and balanced upper and lower body. Go for a strapless look or get that WOW factor with our Sienna Maxi Dress.

Our Australian size guide for maternity is as follows XS 6/8, S 8/10, M 12, L 14/16, XL 18, XXL 20 plus.

NOTE: This maternity/nursing page has been put together to help as a "guide only" for choosing the correct size from our maternity and breastfeeding styles. It is still recommended that you check our measurement guide against your own clothing and consider your body type when choosing the best styles for you maternity or breastfeeding wardrobe.
