a sensitive age choosing a child care center is of utmost importance. Infants
are more prone to accidents and can cause more problems for adults as even if
anything goes wrong they are unable to communicate. How to hold a child at that
age and how to feed him, lay him while hes sleeping; all of it counts. Infants
have to be given an even close and individual attention. One teacher can only
take care of one infant at a time, as if they have more than one in their care
and if they all start crying or require feeding at the same time then it would
be a problem for the teacher/ instructor.
Infant child care centre requires more care as they need to hire experienced
teachers. These teachers need to be especially trained as they are supposed to
teach the children basic things like; movements, how to grasp things, basic
disciplinary rules, sensory development (like touch, feel and listen) etc. Thus
teachers need to have special certificates so that they know child care for that
age group; not everyone can handle children of that particular age.
Your child also needs to be cuddled, wooed, played games with like peek-a-boo
etc. These are also some basic development techniques. Recognizing sounds and
making noises are not only playing techniques, they actually teach your child
the basics of speaking.
Recent research methods have proved that children from a very young age pick up
languages and spoken language of adults may influence a childs way of speaking
eventually. Talking to your child in a child like manner, too much cooing etc
may disrupt your childs speech. Taking pauses while you speak may also result
in stammering. Such are the things that teachers at infant childcare centers
should know and should apply in order to develop your child from that age
onwards. Children learn or recognize languages too at such an age an respond to
them. Every person can speak to a child in a different language and the child
will learn to respond accordingly (but given some time of course).
A good child care centre for infants never forgets that the parents are the
centre for a child and at this age especially both parties should teach the same
things and know what has been taught. If a child recognizes words then the
teachers need to tell the parents that this particular groundwork has been done,
so that the parents can start on something new. Daily reports are being given to
the childrens parents along with what reinforcement work that needs to be done.
Special guidelines for parents will also be given in order to see to it that the
child is taught one thing at a time.
