subject: The Major Reasons For Failing Weight Loss Plans [print this page] The Main 3 Reasons People Fail with Their Weight Loss Plan
Individuals dont fail with their weight reduction plan because they are just fat and lazy; it's not because they do not try. Many people put a great deal of work into sticking to a weight loss plan but there are some elements that keep them from ever doing well at any long term fat reduction.
1. People think of weight reduction as something short-term. Once they get to the "end", where they would like to be, they quit the plan rather than using good habits to maintain their weight.
They don't think of good nutrition and exercise as a way of life change. Perhaps that seems like too much work or determination for them so they just attempt things here and there to get a little weight off. Perhaps they're not that serious about wanting to be healthy, or just good looking and slender.
2. They are deceived by diet programs. Dieting is a huge no-no. Nutritious eating behaviors are what everybody should be concentrating on. They need to incorporate a balance of complex carbohydrates, low fat protein, and healthy fats.
Dieting makes us feel deprived of food and when we're not happy, our bodies respond by craving those "comfort foods", holding onto fat, using up muscle mass to feed our bodies, mood swings, exhaustion, stress, you name it. Going on a diet often equates to muscle reduction which means fat gain, remember that.
3. People are overly tired or pressed for time to workout and eat healthy. When we're hungry (food deprived) we get impatient. We want the swiftest results with the least level of work. That's why many people select less healthy foods, simply because they're fast. And then because we're usually so famished, we overeat on the unhealthy foods, feel bad, and give up on the diet.
When we are tired, all we desire to do is sleep, not exercise. We quit building muscle (which uses up fat for us even while we rest) and begin eating less healthy food (which leads to increased body fat). This usually comes about when the aggravating "plateau" stage hits.
Weight reduction programs take a LOT of determination and you have to make sure it's a plan that you can modify as your day to day way of life. It all starts in your mind; if it's not something you wish to continue throughout your life, it will not have the power to make it.
