Express appreciation: Every person needs appreciation, so do teachers. Praise the teacher's efforts and also encourage your child to do so. A card or flowers on Teachers' day, a token of love on Diwali, a 'thank you'note, an invitation to the teacher on your child's birthday celebration will show the teacher what he/she means to your child.
Share the stories of your teachers with your child: Narrate to your child how your teachers inspired you. Tell them how the teachings of some of them still influence your life. When you'll talk about your teachers with respect and nostalgia, your child will begin to relate to his teacher more closely.
