The Fantastic Barcelona's Beaches

Barcelona has some of the best beaches in the area, and there are many to choose from. There is the Nova Icaria, the closest one to the Olympic Marina. There are three bars here, and two very popular restaurants, on the promenade of Mango and Chiringuito de Moncho, as well as many others just a short walk from the beach itself. Because of its popularity though, you can expect that it will be crowded most of the year. There is Bogatell which is twice as long as Nova Icaria and edged by a stone walking area that is a great place to roller blade, ride a bicycle, or even just stroll along and do some people watching.

There are also some great family beaches to go to which are not as crowded as the more popular adult oriented ones. Many of these are to the south where they are much wider and the ocean is shallower making it ideal for children. One of the best beaches to note is Casteldefells, a beach that is five kilometers in length and just a short ride from town on the train, with the Platja de Casteldeflells station just a short distance away. It has some great facilities with many bars and restaurants close by and changing rooms with toilets. There are other beaches that are less crowded even further to the south, El Garraf is just one that also has just as good accommodations but is far less crowded.

There are many other sites and attractions in and around Barcelona. The problem with many holiday goers is that there are budget constraints and this can always put a damper on your plans. Two of the biggest problems that suck up your budget are lodging and food, which usually go hand in hand. Hotels and resorts are expensive, charge by the night, and even the best ones don't always provide meals or have restaurants on the premises. If they do, you can expect to pay even more than the local cafe or restaurant down the street. There are many other disadvantages as well, like privacy.

Instead of dealing with all of these problems, the best way to go on a holiday here, or really anywhere you plan you travel is by renting a holiday apartment. You don't have to get just an apartment either, there are many villas that are available as well. There are many advantages of these over conventional lodging ideas. One of them is they come complete with their own kitchen facilities, and you can cook your own meals instead of going out all the time. What better way to enjoy and experience the real culture of the area than by shopping at the local marketplaces?

Renting a holiday apartment can be much cheaper than a hotel. You can expect to pay at least 100Euros or more per night, and the more luxurious, the more you pay. With a holiday apartment, you may pay 1000 Euros per week, depending on how many rooms, but this is by the week, not night. If you have five people in your party, for example, that is just 200 for the entire week stay. Many have more than one bathroom and usually they provide many of the same amenities.
