The Portland return of Disney's THE LION KING opens tonight, Friday, June 18 at 7:30pm at Keller Auditorium for a limited engagement of four weeks through Sunday, July 11. In Portland, THE LION KING plays Tuesday through Saturday evenings at 7:30pm, Sunday evenings at 6:30pm, Saturday matinees at 2:00pm and Sunday matinees at 1:00pm, with additional performances on Thursday, June 17 at 1:00pm and Thursday, July 8 at 1:00pm. The Actors Fund has announced a benefit performance of THE LION KING in Salt Lake City, Utah. On August 25th, 2010 this special performance to benefit the Fund will take place at the Capitol Theatre. THE LION KING will run at the Capitol Theatre from August 11 to September 26, 2010. The musical, directed by Julie Taymor, features unique portrayals of animals by its cast and hit songs such as 'Can You Feel the Love Tonight' and 'Circle of Life.'
