England's cricketers will not be happy with series draw

Author: Ben Carso

Thursday's final few overs were nerve jangling to say the least and whilst admiration must be held for Englands tail end England will not be happy should they return home with a test series draw. A result that can only happen should South Africa win the final test of the series in a weeks time. Whilst the majority of English fans are digging out the snow, those that have follwed the team not only enjoyed some great weather on Thursday but some fantastic cricket which will hopefully be seen again in the fourth and final test. Despite ball tampering discussions and the occasional banter between opposing team players the test series has been something of a first for England who usually follow an Ashes win with some mediocre cricket. There seems to be an alltogetherness in this team that suggests the Ashes was not the final job as they look to become the Worlds number 1 cricket test team. They will hopefully approach the last test with the same enthusiasm as the previous three against South Africa going for a win as those teams that do play for a draw end up getting bitten. The batting in Englands first innings will require some tidying up if they wish to score a good innings in the final test. Anything less than that and England will not be happy. The way they have played truly represents Englands new spirit and depsite not being able to lose the series they will want to being the one dayers as a team that have dealt with South African cricket professionally and without sympathy. The best online bookmakers obviously have England as odds on favourites for the series at 4/9 although the draw cannot be over looked at 13/8 with South Africa playing for pride, and a lot of it.About the Author:
