subject: Risks Of Dental Holidays [print this page]

The idea may seem a little new to you or maybe you have never heard of the idea before. The idea of traveling to a developing country to have your health and dental work done is still a fairly new concept.

Dental holidays definitely have their advantages. The advantage of saving thousands of dollars is a pretty big one. The idea of traveling to a new county is good for some. Maybe it's the advantage of getting away from work and lounging on the beach while recovering.

Whatever your reason for considering a dental holiday, there are some risks involved which need to be considered before traveling to get your work done.

1- Not a real company

This shouldn't be a major risk because it is one easily overcome. With the power of the internet at your finger tips, you can find out if the company is legit. Look at the website, search for reviews, call them and ask them a few test questions.

2- The Company does poor work

This is probably the biggest risk out there. You spend one thousand dollars flying to this country and another few hundred on hotel and accommodations only to get poor work done. Or even worse, they mess up and the fix will cost even more.

Be sure to collect references from the company. Also, see if you can track down any references by internet searches or blogging websites. People who've already had work done at the clinic will be your most powerful resource.

3- It isn't that much cheaper

This risk is more of a fear than anything else. For some, traveling across the world is so scary that they will try to convince of themselves reasons not to do it. Some will say, between the money and time spent traveling it will not be worth it.

This is an easy one, simply do the math and let the math speak for itself.

The fact of the matter is, there are risks involved. However, with proper research, you may find the advantages far outweigh the risks.
