How To Create a Great Opt-in Page That Will Guaratnee Visitor Sign-Up by:Peter Nouwens

Once you've identified a niche to build a list in, the next thing to do is set up an opt-in page, or squeeze page, to collect, gather and store your member's name and e-mail address.

A lot of people gloss over this and wonder why they don't get the number of sign-ups they thought they would. So, you really should follow this advice, and create a great opt-in page that generates great profits for your online business.

Now, there's one thing you need to realise: the goal of a squeeze page is ONLY to collect e-mails. It's NOT a good idea or design to put affiliate offers or articles on this page. It distracts visitors from the task at hand. They should see one thing to do - and that is to sign up for your list. This simple approach will definitely increase your conversions.

While you don't want it to be unfocussed, it can't be just Name and Addesss centric. It needs compelling text, or content, that convinces people to opt in. It doesn't have to be long; around 300 words is fine. Clearly state the benefits of signing up for the list. Focus on what's in it for them.

It's a very good idea to give something away for free in exchange for their e-mail. It's not mandatory, but many Internet marketers do it because it definitely increases conversions. Give them something they can download immediately, or is sent them them automatically. So it can be an e-book, or series of articles as a tuturial, audio, video, or anything else. A lot of physical-based businesses give away coupons in exchange for the e-mail address. You need to bear in mind that while people might be happy to give to their e-mail address, they can be less willing to give their residential address.

Whatever you do, you need to help them by making it very clear that the benefits of signing up outweigh the costs. It might seem odd to associate a cost with giving away an e-mail address, but people can be wary of doing it. For that reason alone, you need to make sure you're thought of as a credible person. And make it perfectly clear that you will never send spam or sell their e-mail address, and then do as you say!

You don't have to be a trail blazer in your niche, so a great thing to do is look carefully at other marketers squeeze pages. Get a feel for their layout and content, how they have designed it and the language and tone they used. You can follow their lead and create your squeeze page quickly, knowing it's based on a successful model.

So, there's no reason not to get started on your squeeze page right now. What are you waiting for?!
