In the 1930s the area was expanded, and The Electric Fountain, a display of changing shape and colour at night, was set up to honour the heritage of Beverly Hills as a centre of prosperity and abundance. By the 1950s Beverly Hills status as a premier upscale neighbourhood was cemented with prestigious development programmes in place.
