subject: Getting The Stubborn Weight Off And Losing Belly Fat [print this page]

When losing weight many people try different types of diets and fail and continue with the same eating habits. Even those that reach their goal weight, gain back the weight after a diet. One major point that is hardly mentioned is to know what types of foods we are eating. Breaking the diet down into the basics and learning about sugar, fat, protein, carbohydrate and ingredients of food. When you know and understand labels, what you are eating will count towards calories, fat and protein intake.

When trying to lose weight and you want to lose one pound the number of calories needs to be 3500 less of what is coming into your body now. When doing the calculation and you want to lose 1 pound in a week the number of calories that need to be reduced is 500 a day. There are many easy ways to do this, exercise will burn calories and fat, changing the types of foods we eat will remove the stubborn weight.

Today on the market the number of diet programs is incredible, they all promise the same things, lose 10 pounds in a week, or lose 20 pounds in 2 weeks and so on. This is where common sense comes in, when hearing all this makes sure it makes sense and it sounds logical. When losing weight the most effective weight loss program is losing weight slowly and steady.

The word diet to me is not a great word to use when losing weight. What this means is that you are eating a certain way to lose the weight and when you reach the goal weight, you are no longer eating that way. Does this make any sense? Losing weight is more of a lifestyle change. You will learn how to eat and this will be the way you eat the rest of your life. This doesn't mean that every once in a while you can't indulge.

Here are the basics. Learn how to read box labels, if there are ingredients in the food and you cannot pronounce them or you don't know what they are, don't by that particular food. For example: If you are purchasing a food that has "bht" and you never heard of it, most likely it's not food. It's probably nothing you would add when you are cooking your food. By the way it is a preservative in foods and it's a pool cleaner. Look for foods that are low in sugar, fat and high in protein. Take an all natural supplement that will burn fat, increase metabolism, provide health benefits and increase energy. There are many on the market. One that works well is the acai berry supplement which really gets the stubborn weight off.
