Tell The Buyer What The Need To Know

Dont beat about the bush when you want to sell your car. Tell them everything they need to know in order to make the right decision. It is not worth going out of your way to lie to the buyer when there is probably someone else who wants the car as is. It is worth letting the buyer decide for themselves once they have all the facts. If the facts are falsified then you may even be liable for prosecution if it is proven that you were aware of any issues before you tried to sell your car. It is actually illegal to sell a car that has been written off by an insurance company or road worthiness inspection as uninsurable or unfixable in some countries. Make sure you check the regulations that are applicable where you live before attempting to sell your car if it has ever been in a major collision.

If the car has been used for an extended period and not maintained it may also be worth telling the buyer this when you try to sell your car. It will actually give them the opportunity to get the car taken care of by a mechanic before they transfer the registration into their own name. If they have transferred the registration and their new faulty vehicle has been responsible for an accident then you are probably going to feel pretty bad about it. You may not be held accountable but you will surely have a lot of trouble living with yourself knowing that it couldve been avoided had you been up front when you managed to sell your car. The gain you might get from selling a car is not worth someones life or ripping someone off for.

It is not hard to be honest. Just say exactly what the buyer needs to know about the car. If you do bend the truth then dont bend it about anything that can end up costing someone more than it is worth (including yourself). If you do happen to make a mistake then call them up about the mistake so they can then take steps to rectify the situation if it is something that the buyer will need to know. If you really need to lie to sell the car then it is probably not worth selling or buying.
