subject: Fast Weight Loss Diets: Doing It Right [print this page]

When considering a new diet many potential dieters are drawn to fast weight loss diets. They assume that it will be just as simple as any other dieter with more intense weight loss results. These same dieters find themselves frustrated as they try multiple weight loss programs with little success. Hard work that isn't rewarded is entirely frustrating. Forever aiming at a weight loss goal and never reaching it can destroy an individual's will power; especially when they see friends, neighbors, co-workers and more succeeding on THEIR weight loss programs.

Lack of weight loss success can often be pinpointed down to a few common causes. These mistakes are often repeated and result in unsuccessful dieting. One of these common reasons for lack of weight loss success is lack of commitment. And we're not talking about how long you've spent in your current relationship.

commitment issues can drastically affect probability for success on a weight loss plan:

1. Decreasing the chances that dieters will be able to withstand temptation. Dieters that aren't actually committed to sticking to the diet rules are far more likely to make random exceptions. And breaking the rules frequently drastically decreases chances for success.

2. It makes it easier for dieters to feel they have an "out" when it comes to fast weight loss diets and their rules.

3. Excessive options: a lack of commitment to one diet leaves dieters open to the temptation of jumping ship when another diet sounds good. This leaves many dieters failing to complete one program before they start another. Failure to complete a diet leaves the dieter without the benefits of their own hard work. If a dieter is committed to their current diet plan they won't feel that other diets are an option...they haven't finished their current program yet.

4. Disbelief in the weight loss possibilities: lack of commitment also leaves dieters with the ability to sway back and forth in their own faith in the system. After making a weight loss program choice...dieters need to believe that it's going to work. This is a vital aspect of "committing" to fast weight loss diets.

Everyone has issues. You have issues. And I've got issues. My neighbor has issues. Your neighbor has issues. But what we need to be doing now that we're all aware we've got issues is identifying them. Once we know what our issues are we'll be able to move forward and overcome it. Can you overcome your issue/s? Can you be a committed dieter? If not...it's probably best that you just accept it and go on and stop your half hearted attempts to diet; they're wasted.

Dieting is based on the need for commitment. Fast weight loss diets in particular are all or none in the commitment department. You're either going to follow the rules of the program or you're not going to follow the rules. If you follow the rules of a reputable program you will lose weight. If you don't follow the rules you won't lose weight. And if you're on a "diet" and not following the rules...you can expect to waste your time.

But if you are, in fact, able to identify one of your issues as lack of commitment and take it to the next step by overcoming it then you can definitely move forward with fast weight loss diets (your choice, of course). Look for one that offers a bonafide weight loss strategy not just empty promises. check to make sure that it has a history of weight loss success. And once you've done your research and made your decision...jump in and really do it. Commitment is a good thing!
