We've created your step-by-step wedding day plan to get you up the aisle in style, and without a hitch.

Step 1: Eat! Even if your stomach is full of butterflies, try to start the day with some kind of breakfast. Youll need the fuel to get through what will be, without a doubt, an emotional and, yes, stressful day. A Starbucks or Diet Coke doesnt count!

Step 2: Leave it to the pros. Do yourself a favor and hire a professional hairstylist and makeup artist to get you looking gorgeous. Even if youre the ultimate DIY girl, pros can give you that priceless pampered feeling youll appreciate on the big day. More importantly, though, pros have seen and repaired every beauty disaster known to womankind so theyll be able to create a look that will last all day long, stand up beautifully in all those photos, and even battle humidity, zits, tears and other lurking problems.

Step 3: Step out on the right foot. Though it may practically kill you to do it, take a coarse piece of sandpaper and scuff up the soles of your pretty new bridal shoes. Doing this will ensure you dont do a pratfall on the driveway or walking up the aisle. New, unblemished soles are notoriously slippery.

Step 4: Dress with care. Spread a clean white bed sheet on the floor of your dressing area before getting dressed. Since static electricity can instantly cover the hem of a white gown with hairs and carpet fibers, this little precaution is well worth doing.

Then, steal this trick from fashion stylists who must quickly dress models backstage at fashion shows: If the design of your gown doesnt allow you to step into it when getting dressed, first cover your head with a large silk scarf before pulling your gown on over your head. Youll avoid getting makeup on your gown and the slippery silk will protect your do from getting mussed.

Step 5: Ride in style. To ensure you step out of your wedding day chariot looking no less than perfect, youve got to do a little pre-wedding day research.

Ask your bridal salon consultant for recommendations on how to organize the skirt of your gown for the ride to the wedding. You may need to gather up the skirt, sit on the lining or petticoat of the dress and perch on the edge of the seat so that youre not crushing the train. Stretch limos come in very handy in this situation.

Then, make sure you have a good idea of the amount of room youve got in your vehicle. Vintage automobiles dont necessarily have a lot of room for passengers so keep that in mind after youve bought the big, blowout ballgown and before you fall in love with the Model T.

Step 6: Be prepared. Prepare two bags to take with you when you go. The first is your gorgeous bridal handbag. The second is a small wedding day emergency kit that you can entrust to your maid of honor. Everyone in the wedding party will appreciate knowing about the emergency kit as well.

In your handbag be sure to pack the following:

Lipstick or gloss

Handkerchief

Blotting sheets - Better than face powder, papers eliminate shine without adding more makeup to your skin.

Cotton swabs to clean up migrating makeup

Small eye shadow compact with brush

Travel size sprtizer of your bridal fragrance

Breath freshener

Floss or toothpicks

Comb

Pocket mirror

In your wedding day emergency kit be sure to pack the following:

Travel size bottle of hairspray or balm

Extra hairpins, if needed

Mini sewing kit and safety pins

Extra pair of pantyhose or stockings if wearing

Bandages for any new-shoe blisters

Medicine for headaches and upset stomach

Eye drops and spare contact lenses for the bride or groom, if either wears them

Lint brush

Spot remover
