subject: Is It Possible To Have A Stress-free Wedding? [print this page] You have been dreaming about your wedding your whole life. Even as a little girl, perhaps you used to play games dressing your dolls in white, doing their hair, and planning for that perfect wedding that will be yours one day.
Wedding invitations. Every family has a member that should be locked in a safe place and not allowed to go around unsupervised. Make a deal with your future husband: it is up to both of you to invite only people who will make your wedding a festive event and not something that will appear in the Sunday papers as a scandal of the year.
There are few things you can do to minimize amount of stress and still have all details just the way you want them: pay a wedding planner, or find a very organized person and put her in charge. (Both of these people should be able to put up with your mother and your mother in law!)
Looking Good on Your Wedding Day. Stress releases a hormone called cortisol, and too much cortisol for an extended period of time can make you look old. Wrinkles and gray hair are partially a byproduct of stress. That means staying relaxed, or at least as relaxed as possible, is in your best interest, especially when photo time arrives.
Keep reminding yourself that this is your day. You are supposed to enjoy it. You are supposed to remember your wedding for the rest of your life and tell your children about it. It is also a big day for many others in your and your fiance's family.
In the end, nobody will remember that the wedding invitations were misspelled or that the wine was warm and the soup was cold. However, you do not want them to remember you shrieking at your hairdresser who put gardenias and not roses in your hair. Relax; it is just a minor detail that can be easily fixed. Actually, all the details are minor. What matters is that you and your darling are starting a new life together with a wonderful, warm, stress-free ceremony. A lot of good champagne will also help.
