subject: Eureka 4870mz Review- An Overview Of The Eureka 4870 Vacuum [print this page]

The name "Eureka" has been synonymous with quality vacuum cleaners for many years. The addition of the Eureka 4870MZ, has done nothing but enhance that reputation. The first time you vacuum your floors with the 4870MZ, you will notice that it just feels "solid". It is that quality of construction, as well as other fine features, that make it a great value in upright vacuum cleaners.

This model has so many handy and helpful features, it is difficult to know where to start. However, it is best to begin by addressing what a vacuum cleaner is designed to do, which is- vacuum!

This unit features a robust 12 amp motor, but to tell you the truth, it appears to be much more powerful. The suction power is quite remarkable, as it is very rare that a spot on your carpet or floor ever needs to be covered twice.

Adding to the efficiency, is a powerful "dirt trapping" system, and an extra wide 15 inch cleaning path. Because of the suction power and the wide path, the time it takes to vacuum is drastically reduced.

The Eureka 4870 vacuum has lots of handy attachments, too. Among them is an attachment called the "Power Paw". It is designed to grab hard to get pet hair from stairs, carpets, and upholstered furniture.

The hose also is a geat asset as it can extend to almost 5 times it's starting length. That extra length, coupled with the 30 foot power cord, allows for an amazing cleaning radius!

This model is somewhat heavy, so one must be careful to set the height adjustment properly, or the vacuum will drag. The brush bar features 7 height levels, so finding the correct height is not a problem.

While vacuuming, making the transition from carpet to bare floors can made with a simple flip of a switch.

Probably the most useful feature is the enclosed HEPA filter. With so many allergens in the air, it is nice to know that 99% of them are trapped within this unit's filtration system.
