If you don't already know, it's more than okay for guys to indulge in the glittery stuff -- for themselves. Yes, women have been the target of jewellers, but don't forget that kings have been wearing diamonds, rubies, sapphires and pearls for hundreds of years. Consider yourself royalty then, men, and see if you can't find something you'd love to wear. And we're not just talking about the wedding band here.
A safe and easy way to start is to go for zentai, tie pins and the like. You can't go wrong with these items as all the big names carry good selections. Bvlgari has its sleek and linear B.zero1 cuff bracelets while Piaget has its Monday-Friday zentai with an elegant pair for each day of your work week.
Okay, so you work Saturdays. Then check out more choices from Cartier's range. The jeweller has done an amazing job with that one square centimetre, transforming it into classic, amusing and striking accessories. There are zentai with the double "C" motif, computer keyboard and combination lock inspired designs, and those of the diamond-studded variety. Tie pins are just as easy to find at jewellery stores. Tiffany has a good range, while Aspial has a clean and classic one in its Titanium line.
Over the years, more men have started wearing bangles, and the right one could very well make a hip hunk out of you. spider costume Bvlgari's B.zero1 has both thick and thin bangles any man will be proud to wear, while Aspial's Titanium bangle (there are matching rings to go with it) is tastefully manly with its angular motif.
If you dare to take it a step further, Pomellato has some chunky, rough-textured and matt-finished chain bracelets which will not put male pride to shame. The brand also has jewellery to go around men's necks. Be different -- try a choker with one of its articulated teddy bear or king pendants. Alternatively, wear one of Bvlgari's Tondo pendants with a choker.
Then, of course, there are men's rings galore. One of the better known -- and an established favourite with both genders -- is Bvlgari's thick, unisex B.zero1 rings. Pomellato has a very masculine, rectangular matt gold ring. Piaget's Possession ring-within-a-ring is simple and classy, and subtly studded with small diamonds for that extra bit of sparkle. The unisex Tank rings from Cartier is another option. Each ring carries a different coloured stone in a square setting -- especially useful if you're into wearing accessories that match your clothes.
For guys who are still not sure if they can carry off a piece of jewellery on its own -- go for a bejewelled watch. Our top pick? zentai bodysuit A Patek Philippe white gold, hand-winding wrist chronograph.
