subject: Online Dating- Golden Rule When Posting Photos [print this page]

The reason that online dating sites are so popular and successful is they are easy to navigate through photos of your potential dates. We all have a desire to leave an impression to people and show your physically asset. What better way to attract someone is through series of good pictures?

So how do you post a nice photograph? The best thing to do is post several pics that show the actual you. You need a series of pics that include: a face shot-people need to see your smirk, they need to see your eyes. A pleasant smirk & a sparkle in your eyes will go a long way towards attracting a compatible person.

A picture says a thousand words. No matter how descriptive & witty you are along with your personal description, lots of people won't even think about someone who does not include a photograph. Only some of us are model material but that doesn't mean they can't take a nice picture. In case you think by not posting a photograph, someone will get to know the actual you before they see you, you are only kidding yourself. The actual you include what you look like.

A full body photograph, so you are built average or a few additional pounds, much better to flaunt it & be up front about it than catch someone by total surprise. The best pics are natural, not posed that show us in a nice light. A professional photograph is a pleasant addition; you can have a portrait taken at Target or Wal-Mart for small cost. Glamour pics are lovely but they don't show the true you. Pics that show you doing something such as your trip to Mexico or out hiking, also tell more about who you are. Over one photograph reveals even more about you & your interests.

People taking a look at your advertisement need to know the current you & your pics ought to reflect that. Don't use 5 pics where you look different in each one. Is this the same person or different people? When it comes to meeting you in person you ought to look like the pics you posted.

The golden rule when posting pics on dating sites is obvious-Be Honest. We've all heard tales of people who've posted a photograph that is ten or twenty year's elderly. Or worse still, a photograph of someone else entirely!

A misleading photograph causes all sorts of unnecessary issues on a first date. You will have your date questioning your honesty. You need to turn up for dates relaxed, along with your best attitude put forward. Still not satisfied? Think the way you would feel, if someone using a dishonest photograph deceived you? That ought to be incentive for you to be honest & correct.

So what if you've gained a few pounds? Aged a bit? Give yourself some credit, you're still a great person, & positive to be someone's ideal match. Physical attraction is a personal thing. Some people may be drawn to you for your smirk or that sparkle in your eye & they may well like your "love handles". Don't be afraid to let people know the actual you. None of us are ideal. Attitude counts for far over an ideal body.
