Car Injury - The 5 Best Exercises To Reduce Your Whiplash Injury?

It is important to make sure that you are conducting the exercises as proper as possible, especially since the last thing you want to do is to cause further injury to yourself.

If you are ready to start your exercises for your whiplash injury, you will want to consult your chiropractor first. This way, he can give you the clearance to do them and you can go through the motions of the exercise in his office in order to be sure that you really do know how to do the exercises properly. You certainly do not want to end up causing yourself more pain and damage.

Eye Movement

Even though it might sound strange, moving your eyes around while you keep your head facing forward will help some. Look at the two, four, eight and then the ten o'clock position, all while keeping your head still. These tiny movements will give some improvement to the muscles in the back of the head.

Head Back And Forward

Obviously, since you are a victim of whiplash, you want to be careful with your range of motion. However, you do not want to not move at all because that can actually make your situation worse. Start with your head straight. Slowly move your head back and look up. Go as far back as you can go without causing yourself a lot of pain. You will do the same thing going forward, trying to get your chin to your chest. Do not worry if you cannot go all the way as that is nothing more than a result of the whiplash and you are working to solve that.

Ear To Shoulder

Tilt your head so that your ear to going to your shoulder. Go as far as you can and make sure that you are taking your time with it in order to prevent further problems to the injury.

Over The Shoulder

Standing still, you will want to slowly move your head as though you are going to try to look behind you. Go as far as you can.

Beach Ball

Place a beach ball between your forehead and the wall. Slowly and carefully move the ball around with your forehead. Move it in circles or try to move in the figure eight. You can also do this by placing the ball between the wall and the back of your skull.

As you can clearly see, there are many exercises that you can do at home in order to increase your chance of getting better fast. Keep up with your appointments at the chiropractors though. Home exercises are to be used as a supplement to the in office appointments, not in place of.
