The Canary Islands attract thousands of tourists every year, from those wanting a relaxing beach break to others wanting to party until the early hours. The islands are as diverse as the tourists who visit them, families, older travellers and groups of your singles all descend on the islands looking for their ideal break. The Canary Islands include some of the world's most popular holiday destinations, Fuerteventura, Lanzarote, Gran Canaria and Tenerife are all part of the island collection.

As the islands are located close to the African border, they make fantastic winter sun destinations. Many tourists choose to wait until after the peak summer period and enjoy a cheaper, quieter holiday experience to combat the winter blues. The summer months however, are the hottest with temperatures hitting their highest especially during July and August.

Tenerife is the largest Canary Island and one of the most popular places to visit, the stunning beaches and tourist facilities are matched by the rich cultural history. Many people flock to the island to climb to the top of Mount Teide, the highest elevation of the islands of the Atlantic. It is also the third largest volcano in the world. The surrounding areas comprise the Teide National park which has been named as a UNESCO world heritage site.

Along with the rich culture and history of the island, Tenerife is also a fantastic place to enjoy a lively, vibrant nightlife. The Playa de las Americas resort attracts crowds of young people all year round, with a wide selection of bars and nightclubs it is no surprise why! The Puerto de la Cruz resort is ideal for families wanting to explore the island; there is a traditional feel to the resort and a quieter atmosphere.

The third largest Canary Island, Gran Canaria is another island renowned for its diversity. The spectacular beaches attract couples and families wanting to relax and unwind, however the lively nightlife also brings in young travellers. Fuerteventura is the quietest island, with stretches of sandy beach and clear waters that compliment the relaxing atmosphere. This island is mainly popular with older travellers and couples wanting to enjoy the intimate beaches and beautiful surrounding areas.

The Canary Islands offer something for everyone to enjoy with each island offering its own unique character and culture. Whether you want to escape the stress of everyday life or simply enjoy a holiday where you party till dawn, you are guaranteed to find the ideal island for you.
