That is a really good question and I will try to give my best answer to this question of yours. The food you eat is obviously very important and determines how fast or if at all, you lose weight. Of course foods are not only very very good or very very bad. Most foods are somewhere in the middle and knowing them, is also important.

Oatmeal

Oatmeal is one of the best fat burning foods for several reasons. First of all has a very good balance of carbs, protein and good fats. The protein and fats, make oatmeal a slowly released carbohydrate, which is perfect if you want to get lean and lose weight fast. Oatmeal is perfect for breakfast, because it keeps you filled for quite a long time. It certainly has to be in your menu.

Potatoes

Potatoes are certainly one of the foods, that help you lose weight fast, because they are complex carbohydrates, they are natural, contain fiber, minerals and vitamins. Potatoes are also low in calories. The only reason why potatoes are not that popular, is because they are high in the glycemic index. A food that is high in the glycemic index gets absorbed as blood sugar quickly, which in turn releases insulin levels very quickly. But if you eat potatoes with some lean protein like lean meat, then the glycemic index of the whole meal is lower.

Brown rice

This is another really great food, that you can eat whole year round. Using brown rice instead of white rice for example, is a better option because white rice is processed, so it is more like a simple carbohydrate. Brown rice is digested more slowly, meaning the body has to spend more energy to digest it, so it burns more calories and it because it is not processed, it has much better quality.
