Wedding programs have a brief outline of the ceremony and participants. If it is a religious ceremony, instructions to sit or stand, a special prayer, bible verse or blessings might be included. Adding the names of the organist, singer, or pianist is a nice touch.

There may also be a program for the reception which includes the menu for the event, the order of events such as when the cake will be cut, first dance, special toasts and who will be making the toasts. Place cards may also be included to tell guests where they are seated.
