Jay Leno Tickets - Still Loving 'the Tonight Show'

Jay Leno has been keeping the ratings high on NBC as he continues to impress audiences with his guest stars and jokes. Leno has been doing this for years, but as the first season on NBC and with a nightly show, he still manages to top the rating charts with his product count and more.

Recently named "America's Favorite TV Personality" by the 2009 Harris Poll, in September his formerly late night talk show moved to primetime and is the first entertainment show stripped across primetime on broadcast network television. The show takes place on weeknights at 10 p.m., and if you want to check out a show this year, go online for his full schedule to get Jay Leno tickets today!

The veteran show host and actor has been in the spotlight for years, but the funny man wasn't always in the limelight. Born in New Rochelle, N.Y. and raised in Andover, Mass., Leno enjoyed the spotlight in his twenties when he ran the comedy circuit during the '70s. Born James Douglas Muir Leno to Italian Scottish parents, he fixated on becoming a mainstream comedian at a young age, performing nearly 300 performances annually.

A strong and dedicated laugh man, Leno made his television debut on the Merv Griffin Show and his acting debut with the 1977 film Silver Bears. Though the Peter Stone film starring Michael Caine was a success, Leno's true triumphs were spreading thick through the comedy world and he cast his previous desires to act aside.

The betrayal was a step in the right direction, as he eventually found his calling the same year as Silver Bears with his first appearance on The Tonight Show. It wasn't until a decade later after several behind the scene appearances on features like "Welcome Back Kotter" and American Hot Wax that Leno followed in the footsteps of Steve Allen, Jack Paar and Johnny Carson as the permanent guest host of The Tonight Show. By 1992 he was the reigning star, though his first passion - standup comedy - remained a prominent part in his career, as he averaged about half the shows he used to put together.

His daily show that was moved over to primetime in September 2009 focuses on both what the people want and the people themselves. Monday headlines include snippets from actual advertisements from around the States, while the "Ten at Ten" segment showcases the hottest actors, musicians and public faces of the times. The show is a fitful of laughs, a feature that Leno has been proud to hail as his own for nearly two decades. As host, producer and writing supervisor for The Tonight Show, the stories, interviews and fun-filled live pieces are what make up this comedian's daily life.

Though rumors circled around the celebrity talk show host in regards to a future retirement, the Jay Leno empire has remained strong. "In showbiz, your success is totally subjective; 'Oh, the ratings are great, we love you. Oh, they're not, we don't love you,'" he said last year to USA Today. At that point, Leno was certain he'd be leaving the show, and NBC, by 2009.
