As soon as you have decided to lose weight, you should immediately stop drinking alcoholic beverages because they contain a lot of calories. They do not supply to your body with any nutrition but will add substantially to your weight.

The second step to lose weight is to drink lots of water. Water is capable of removing toxins from the body and since these toxins remain in the fat cells of your body, once the toxins are removed from the fat cells, they become weak and succumb to your efforts of losing weight. Your body weight consists of the weight of water inside your body. So for reducing your body weight, you should reduce the weight of water inside your body. Only by drinking plenty of water, you will be able to reduce the weight of water inside your body. If you do not drink sufficient water, the body will think that water is not available in the required quantity and hence it should be stored.. Water thus stored will increase your body weight. But if you drink sufficient water, your body will think that it is not necessary to store water and so the weight of water inside the body will come down.

You should also stop drinking drinks like bottled drinks, sugary sodas and fruit juices that contain sugar. These drinks contain sugar, a bad carbohydrate. Your body will not be able to burn bad carbohydrates completely and so your body weight will increase. The same is the case with food items like cakes, ice creams, pastries and candies. Sugar contained in them is also a bad carbohydrate. But you get good carbohydrates from fresh fruits and vegetables. So you can eat abundant quantities of fruits and vegetables that give your body a good supply of carbohydrates, vitamins and minerals.

Junk foods, processed foods and oily and spicy foods should be completely stopped. They do not supply any nutrition to your body but they will not fail to add to your body weight. Processed foods contain a lot of chemical preservatives that are harmful to your body. These chemical preservatives can not be processed and flushed out of your body. So they enormously add to your weight. Instead of eating such unhealthy foods, you can start eating healthy foods like fresh fruits and vegetables, wholesome grains and beans that are burned very well by your body and hence do not add to your weight. You can also eat protein-rich foods for rebuilding your muscles.

Instead of eating three large meals, you should split them into six smaller meals and eat them at more frequent intervals. This type of eating will improve your metabolism and so the entire calories of these smaller meals will be burned completely. But if you stick to the routine of eating three large meals, the calories contained in these large meals will not be burned completely and so your weight will increase.

You should also have a judicious exercises regimen comprising cardio and weight training exercises. Cardio exercises will help you in burning your calories. But weight-training exercises will build your muscles that keep burning calories round-the-clock. This will help you in reducing your weight.
