The fact that several severe ailments may affect overweight people lends weight to the legitimacy of the claim made by experts who advocate weight loss. If you are overweight, it is high time you plan to lose weight and have a great health.

The first step to take to reduce your body weight is to bring down the intake of your calories. Instead of taking three large meals, you can split it into six or seven smaller meals and eat them at more frequent intervals. This improves your metabolism and so the calories contained in these six or seven smaller meals will be burned completely. But sticking to the schedule of eating three large meals daily will not help you in burning the calories contained in these large meals completely and so the unburned calories will accumulate as weights.

You should eat a lot of fiber foods because fiber foods are called fat burning diets. They improve your metabolism to a high degree. Fiber foods comprising fresh vegetables and fruits, wholesome grains and beans get burned easily by your body so that they will not increase your weight but these fiber foods will fill your stomach soon. So your intake of your regular diet will come down. Apart from that, fiber foods supply a lot of vitamins minerals and fiber to your body.

Your diet regimen should also consist of proteins, good carbohydrates and good fats apart from fiber foods. Bad carbohydrates are available in several foods like ice creams, candies, cakes, pastries and food items that are prepared from white flour and processed flour. These bad carbohydrates are not burned completely by your body, and so they accumulate as wheat. You have carbohydrates in fresh vegetables and fruits and so if you eat an abundant quantity of fresh fruits and vegetables, apart from getting a good supply of vitamins and minerals, you also get good carbohydrates.

Bad fats are available in food items like fried foods, oily and spicy foods and junk foods. Bad fats increase your weight enormously without supplying any nutrition. So you can shift to good fats that are obtained from foods that are prepared with fish oil and olive oil.

The weight of your body also includes the weight of water inside your body. If you want to reduce your body weight, you should reduce the weight of water inside the body also. For reducing the weight of water, you should drink more of water. If you do not drink more of water, your body will think that sufficient water is not available for its use, and it will start storing water. Water thus stored will increase your body weight. If you drink plenty of water, the body will not feel the necessity of storing water, and so you will be able to reduce your weight.

In addition to the above diet regimen, you should do both cardio and weight lifting exercises to have the maximum benefits in your efforts to lose weight. While cardio exercises burn more calories, weightlifting exercises help you in rebuilding the muscles lost.

By having such a good diet regimen and an exercise regimen, you can reduce your body weight.
