Its no wonder people find it hard to lose weight with all these temptations and distractions around them.

However, losing weight does not have to be an uphill struggle. You can make a few gradual changes every day that will make a real difference over time. The key thing is to keep making these changes over and over until they become a habit.

Consider making these ten habits part of your daily life to help you lose weight:

1. Cut out or reduce processed foods.

2. Water is a natural appetite suppressant. Take plenty of fresh filtered water. Drink about 8 glasses throughout the day.

3. Cut out sugary foods such as chocolate and candy bars. Sugar will lower your metabolism making you put on weight. Eat chocolate only as an occasional treat.

4. Cut down on dairy produce. This includes cows milk, butter and cheese. These are difficult for the body to digest and they are high in saturated fats.

5. Include more of the good fats into your diet. These fats include the essential fatty acids omega 3 and 6. These can be found in extra virgin olive oil, nuts and seeds, avocados, fish and fresh organic vegetables.

6. Avoid eating late. If you eat before you go to bed then this will have the double whammy of spoiling your sleep and making you put on weight.

7. Eat breakfast. Your body's metabolism is at its most effective early in the morning.

8. Avoid the new fad diets. They are not effective because they are not natural and not in tune with the biology of your body. The best way to maintain a healthy weight is to eat a healthy diet rich in fresh vegetables, fruit, lean meat and regular exercise. Do this and you won't need to go on a diet.

9. A good way to cleanse your body and increase your metabolism is drinking a glass of warm water with a slice of lemon first thing in the morning.

10.Try to avoid skipping meals. Missing a meal will not make you lose weight it will have the opposite effect. An empty stomach sends a signal to the brain that there is a scarcity of food. Your body produces more insulin to produce more fat to replace the lack of food in your belly.
