subject: Daniel Tosh Tickets - Tosh.0's Daniel Tosh Preps Fall Tour [print this page] Jon Stewart may have to watch his back, as his throne may soon be usurped by a new kid on the comedy central block: Daniel Tosh. Daniel Tosh's Tosh.0 debuted on Comedy Central in June 2009 and MSNBC reports that the network's two flagships, The Daily Show With Jon Stewart and The Colbert Report, may have to make room for Tosh.0.
The web-centric, half-hour comedy program starring Daniel Tosh is finishing ahead of Stewart and Colbert and is currently Comedy Central's No. 3 rated show, behind South Park and Futurama. The Aug. 4 episode of Tosh.0, for example, was the most-watched show on all TV in the men's 18-24 and 18-34 demographics, reports Comedy Central.
Although Tosh.0 features a format similar to other comedic shows that skewer web videos, host Daniel Tosh brings something special to Tosh.0 through his brand of snarkiness. Another unique feature of Tosh.0 is the "Web Redemption" segment, in which someone who previously appeared in an embarrassing video comes on the show to atone for their web sin.
Tosh.0 executive producer Charlie Siskel tells MSNBC, "I really do think so much of the success of the show comes from Daniel and his particular take on these viral clips, the stuff from the web that gets passed around. People come to expect something different. Now you see comments in the web comments of the video that is being passed around saying, 'I can't wait to see how Tosh is gonna handle this.'"
The man in front of the green screen on Comedy Central's Tosh.0 is 35-year-old Daniel Tosh, who deconstructs the latest Internet videos-drawing from both the mainstream and the obscure-in front of a live audience. Described by TIME as "America's Funniest Home Videos meets Best Week Ever and then sniffs glue with the cast from Jackass," Tosh.0 was the result of Comedy Central wanting to create an Internet culture show (like E! Entertainment's popular The Soup starring comedian Joel McHale) and showcase Daniel Tosh. The standup comedian had previously worked as a Taco Bell pitchman and on a few small Comedy Central projects before Tosh.0 aired and catapulted him into the television comedy realm.
Despite his television success, Daniel Tosh is first and foremost a standup comedian, and any fan of Tosh.0 won't want to miss him when he weaves his way throughout the States this fall. The Tosh Tour Twenty Ten kicks off in Tucson, Ariz. on Sept. 24 and will see Tosh stopping in cities like Phoenix, Ariz.; Albuquerque, N.M.; Dallas, Texas; Houston, Texas; Midwest City, Okla.; Wichita, Kan.; Saint Louis, Mo.; Chattanooga, Tenn.; New Orleans, La.; Jacksonville, Fla.; Atlanta, Ga.; Greensboro, N.C.; New Haven, Conn.; Richmond, Va.; Norfolk, Va.; Amherst, Mass.; Atlantic City, N.J.; New York, N.Y.; Easton, Pa.; Washington, D.C.; Baltimore, Md.; Indianapolis, Ind.; Cincinnati, Ohio; Chicago, Ill.; Boise, Idaho; Spokane, Wash.; Portland, Ore. and more through late November.
Daniel Tosh tickets will be selling fast as fans of Comedy Central's Tosh.0 will be clamoring to see him live.
