subject: How To Find The Right Wedding Ring For Your Man [print this page]

A wedding ring is a symbol of your everlasting look for one another and your promise of eternal commitment. The circle has become iconic of eternity and love, which combined with the long lasting metals that shine gloriously, promotes the commitment and deep love for one another at the heart of a marriage. As husband and wife, you will both want to promote this via a perfectly fitting wedding ring.

For most women, it is far easier to find the ring they want for the rest of their lives. But for a man, it can be quite a task as options are limited. A groom will want something with manly distinction that is not too delicate or ostentatious looking. Start out when first browsing looking for styles that suit his hands, for instance, if your man has long fingers and quite a narrow hand, glance at smaller rings which are not too chunky. If his hands are on the large size, opt for viewing the bigger rings as a delicate ring will be unnoticeable on his fingers. It will be obvious when you find the perfectly formed ring for him because it will look balanced upon his hands, as if it was always part of him.

After choosing form and size, you will need to decide upon the type of metal and style. Generally wedding rings for men are very simple, as they prefer subtle rings that are not decorative. Whilst a woman may prefer a few beautifully encrusted gems upon her finger, men dont generally appreciate this as much on their fingers. Go for a simple style such as a plain wedding ring or a slightly patterned one as these are less like ornaments upon the finger. A squared off edge on the ring is often preferred over curves as it gives a more masculine edge to the ring, and raises the ring just off the finger making it slightly more visible.

If you are looking to purchase similar or matching wedding rings, youll need to consider together what metal you want. Gold, white-gold, platinum and palladium are all favourite metals for wedding rings. Consider what looks best on both of you after all a plain white-gold wedding ring may look beautiful on the bride, but may not necessarily suit the groom. Make sure the ring is durable enough for everyday life as this ring may be with you for up to 60 years!

When shopping for your mans wedding ring, shop well in advance and make sure you have time for several fittings. Try the wedding ring on more than once, as outside conditions can effect the size of your finger. If getting the rings engraved, dont do this too far in advance, as you dont want to end up with an ill fitting perfectly engraved ring. Engrave a month or so before as this will give enough time for the rings to be engraved without the shape of your fingers changing.
