subject: Impress Your Business Partners With Properly Bound Documents [print this page] To ensure the success of a business meeting or presentation, proper equipment and materials are necessary. For example you need to have documents rightly bound together without pages falling off in the middle of the meeting. Here are some tips that will help you get your documents, presentations and booklets nicely bound together without having pages fall apart.
One of the most important tips is to avoid using huge covers with the coil binding machine. These machines can usually only handle regular sized documents and might break the teeth if forced to use a different sized cover.
Before actually binding the documents together, first make sure that everything is ready to be assembled the right way. For example print out all paper including any graphs, table of contents, front and back cover, etc. Assemble all these pages together for each pack that you're going to punch and bind before attempting the task.
If you buy a coil binding machine with a full or partial set of disengageable dies, you can then easily bind together documents and presentations of different sizes and shapes. If you only have the regular type machine, you will only be able to bind together regular letter and half letter sized papers.
For documents that are less than one inch thick you can save some money by using colorcoil to bind them together. However for thicker material, a regular binding machine should be used for better results.
Don't ever attempt to bind together sensitive materials before you've first ensured that the holes will be punched neatly centered. I suggest you use a few scraps of paper and try the machine on them. If the end result is nice and you have properly centered and aligned holes, you can use that very setting for your actual presentations.
