subject: A Daily Weight Loss Plan to Get to Your Long-Term Weight Goal [print this page]

For many people, especially for women who are in their 30's or 40's, it's not that easy to lose the extra weight from their love handles, arms, or even their tummy. For some, it can also take a while for results to even be noticeable. If you feel like you're one of these people, don't lose heart. All you need is a fresh perspective on dieting, and a daily weight loss plan.

Many dieters make the mistake of putting a time limit on their weight loss plan. Unfortunately, most often the time frame is too short which only ends in disappointment, making them give up. Understanding your body and how it works will definitely give you a more realistic goal to aim for.

The secret to successful dieting is combining two perspectives: looking ahead, and taking it day by day. Looking ahead means not only seeing yourself in that red dress you've been eyeing, but also striving to be healthier for the years to come. Long-term goals help motivate you to do what you have to do.

But you need to remind yourself that to get to that long-term goal, you need to do a series of short-term goals, which means taking it day by day.

Make your goals a little fun, so your diet won't seem like torture for you. Cook healthy dinners for your friends, or ask a buddy to go to the gym with you. Having your own food journal will also help you keep track of your progress.

Taking it day by day also means that if you fell a little short of your goals today, you can start fresh tomorrow and make up for your slip-ups. If you take one day at a time to achieve your weight loss goal, you'll have people come up to you and tell you that you look great in no time.

Sometimes, all it takes to lose some weight is a few minutes everyday to work your body.
