Fasting For Weight Loss: 3 tools to maximise your fat loss fasting!

Recently, fasting for weight loss has been receiving rave reviews from past negative critics. The simplicity and versatility are some of the reasons why it has become so popular. Also, many of the old stigmas of weight loss are slowly but surely being disproved by science. Some of these old beliefs include things like 'you must eat every 2 hours to lose weight' and 'your body will enter starvation mode if you don't keep your metabolism ticking over'. Intermittent fasting is rising extremely quickly, and if this is the first you have heard of it you may be wondering what the deal with it is

Cutting Edge Fat Loss System

Fasting is a cutting edge fat loss system, which has been used for weight loss since as long as records have begun. Luckily, our evolution has meant our bodies can actually store energy in the form of fat when we eat a calorie excess, and burn those very same energy stores when we are in a calorie deficit! By keeping our bodies in a natural harmony between the fed and fasted state we can actually burn much more fat than we are storing! To lose the most amount of fat as possible it is strongly advised to have a sensible nutrition plan when you are not fasting; this can include you favourite foods, as long as they are in moderation.

It maybe even easier to adapt to this new fasting way of life than many of us are led to believe. It has been found that our hunger hormone Grehlin get suppressed when we fast. Overwhelmingly, the majority of people who are worried about being hungry during their first fast are pleasantly surprised. Now, I'm not saying you won't feel any sense of hunger but I believe it will be much less than you expect!

Simplicity and Versatility

Most traditional diets are far too restricting, and just not sustainable for the long term. Fasting for weight loss, on the other hand is an extremely versatile and practical lifestyle approach. Depending on your lifestyle needs, there are different approaches to intermittent fasting including The Warrior Diet and Eat Stop Eat! The latter, for example opts for a 24 hour fast, performed once or twice a week to put you in a safe calorie deficit. You are eating every day with this method! E.g. If you were to have your last meal at 6pm on Monday evening, you could have your next meal at 6pm the following evening!

Fasting for weight loss is extremely versatile as you could simply cut your fast short if you had other plans, or an emergency popped up. The great thing is you would still lose fat! An example of the versatility would be if you usually did your fast on a Monday but couldn't because something popped up. You could therefore reschedule for another day in the week to benefit equally.

Increased Focus and Productivity

The surprising thing about fasting is that your focus will increase dramatically, especially whilst fasting. This is thought to be due to hormones released into our bodies when fasting, enabling us to focus on tasks other than thinking about food! The mental clarity you get from fasting is incredible, you become so much more productive.

After doing a fast or two you may notice just how much more productive you are becoming. This is due to the fact that food is not on your priority list, leaving you to complete any tasks or focus on whatever you are doing at the time. This may seem surreal as you would expect the only thing you would be doing whilst fasting is thinking about your next meal. I highly recommend you find out for yourself!
