subject: Choosing Neckwear for a Wedding [print this page]

Neckwear comes in a wide variety of styles and colours there are plenty of different types to choose from, and depending on what you'll be wearing one to, there are certain items that match certain events. For instance, if you're a groomsman in a wedding party, you'll probably have to wear a cravat or wedding tie while going to a simple office party may only call for a simple men's tie. Garments (and neckwear) chosen specifically for weddings, though, tend to be more expensive on principle alone, and that's why you have to be careful when selecting what kind of neckwear you're going to purchase for any wedding.

And that's if you're going to be in the wedding yourself most groomsmen, grooms themselves, and ushers either wear suits that were coordinated before the ceremony with something like a tuxedo rental service. There isn't much of a draw to buy your own wedding garments, since they're especially expensive, but if you do end up finding deals on matched cravats and wedding ties, they're deals worth taking up. Not only are wedding garments expensive, but rental fees for matched tuxedos are just as expensive. Of course, it goes without saying that they're more expensive, but in the long run, owning your own formal attire can be a cheaper option since you'll be able to wear it more than once and this goes for items like cravats and wedding ties as well.

With that out of the way, choosing what you'll wear, in regards to neckwear, during a wedding is vitally important. Not only is the wedding tie or cravat the first thing guests notice when looking at the groom, but its one garment that completes any tuxedo or suit. It's an item that can pull together almost anything, as long as it matches, and it's something that can't be covered up, like bad dress socks. So, choosing your neckwear for a wedding is important, to say the least.

And in the end, the decision is usually made out of personal preference simply deciding on which you like better. For a more formal look, a wedding cravat can't be beat. It's classy, expensive looking, and it stands out fantastically. Wedding ties, on the other hand, are an old standby that you can rely on, if nothing else. Deciding on whatever you like the most, however, is the best decision since it's your special day and all up to you.
