subject: Weight Loss Though Detox Diet [print this page]

Detox diets for weight loss are just a good idea for everyone, not just for people who are very heavily overweight. The principle of detox diets is that they help rid the body of unneeded toxins and heavy metals, thereby allowing the body to run more cleanly and smoothly. The natural byproduct is weight loss, but the principle is good for everyone.

Even in persons of normal weight, toxins that build up in the system over time can cause a variety of other problems, including premature aging of the skin, which no one likes. A clean running system is akin to having a fast metabolism. Most kids seem like they can eat just about anything without gaining fat mainly because their metabolism is still raging on. They don't need to worry about diets because their metabolism takes care of that. The detox diet is similar. If one does plenty of detoxing, their system should run much more efficiently and clean, and the end result should be weight loss and increased energy. But I've never been one to advocate complex systems of diet. I think that simple is better, things you can do without hardly thinking about it. Below are outlined simple, logical steps that can easily be taken throughout the day that will prove very effective.

Below is a list of detox ideas that are easy to do throughout the regular work day. I tried to think of how the average working class person could implement a detox diet without having to heavily change their lifestyle:

1. Hot Detox Tea. Most people like to drink something warm in the morning. Instead of drinking hot tea or coffee every morning, maybe give a warm detox tea a try. I drink them regularly and they're actually quite good. They're full of nutrients and chemicals that are great for detoxing the body.

2. Sipping Water with Lemon. Once the morning's over and you're done with your warm drinks, start sipping something cold. Don't go for the soda can. Instead, have a fresh lemon and squeeze some of it into a glass a chilled water to sip. Lemon is a fantastic detoxing juice, especially when taken in pure water. Pure water by itself is a very good detoxing liquid. If you don't prefer lemon, you can use cranberry or acai berry instead.

3. Eat a Raw Detoxing Vegetable with Dinner. It's always good to eat at least one vegetable with dinner. This time, make sure your vegetable is a raw detox vegetable. Raw vegetables like broccoli, green beans, and bell peppers are not only very tasty, but also very healthy for that quick body cleanse. Cilantro is also one of the very best detoxing vegetables. It's one of the only things that can remove heavy metals from the body. It's just a bit more difficult to put in a meal because you can't really eat it plain, and many people don't like the flavor.

4. Sweat. That's right, sweat. As I stated above, toxins build up over time in the body, and one of the body's ways of releasing those toxins is through the skin. The problem though is that your average working class person doesn't really sweat all that often, and because of that the toxins start to build up in the skin and just sit there, causing some long term damage. A body feels so much better when it sweats often. I prefer working outdoors, but finding a place to sweat is easy. There are saunas and steam rooms in many local gyms, and it isn't that difficult to just go for a jog once a week. Either after or before dinner, think about a way that you can get a good sweat in at least three times a week. Doing this will give your skin back its healthy glow and make it feel young and vibrant.
