The genesis behind the creation of the Business Women's Symposium was a growing realization on the part of several business people that while there are great deal of resources out there for business people, and for Christian women, there was nothing specifically designed for or tailored to the Christian Business Woman. Keys of the Kingdom International and Butterfly Events, LLC recognized that there is a great demand to fill this apparent gap in sources of information both practical and inspirational for those women.
Certainly, there are Christian women's organizations and business women's organizations, but where has the effort been to draw together women of multiple Christian denominations to help them understand how to express their distinct gifts in a manner that is empowering rather than eviscerating of the uniqueness of woman.
Society would have us believe that a woman cannot be feminine and strong at the same time. We emphatically differ.
Isn't it time that women stood up and stood out for not just excellence, but also for being solid, grounded and Godly women?
Our hope and prayer is that women would come to realize that there are solid biblical reasons for women to perform with and be recognized for excellence. At a minimum, women can examine the words of King Solomon in Proverbs 31 in his description of the Wife of Noble Character. In verses 17 and 18 he writes "She sets about her work vigorously; her arms are strong for her tasks. She sees that her trading is profitable, and her lamp does not go out at night."
Further, while this encouragement is specifically written for the Noble Wife, there is no reason why one cannot extrapolate the distinctives of excellence for any woman who performs with excellence in the marketplace - regardless of her marital status
