subject: Usana - A Genuine Usana Mlm Review [print this page]

USANA Health Sciences is a company that makes health and wellness products designed to improve the quality of life of those who they serve. They produce nutrition, diet, energy and personal care products that are sold directly to consumers though individual distributors. The business model that the company uses to distribute its products is called network marketing, also known as direct sales or multilevel marketing.

While there are hundreds of thousands of satisfied USANA customers around the world, there are some dissatisfied former distributors who have labeled the company a fraud.This article will examine the company and reveal the truth about this MLM.

Multilevel marketing is a business model that can best be described as micro-franchising. Most people are familiar with the franchise concept. If a person wants to open a fast food restaurant, they usually turn to franchising. They pay a (hefty) fee to a franchise and for that fee they are allowed to own and operate their own business using the brand name of the chain. McDonad's, Wendy's, etc. These are all franchises. Multilevel marketing is basically the same concept, on a much smaller scale. For a small fee, a person is allowed to sell the products of a company and they build an entire business based around the products sold. So why do people label USANA fraud?

People often confuse multilevel marketing with pyramid schemes. Because the downward structure resembles a pyramid, with one high-level salesperson a the top, and levels under her and levels under that level, etc, people assume it is a fraud. But pyramid schemes are set up so that only one person makes any money at all. In multilevel marketing companies like USANA, if everyone is putting in the work, everyone gets paid. And the person at the top only succeeds when she invests in the people below her, helping them to succeed. It's actually a very nurturing and supportive concept, quite the opposite of a scam or fraud.

When a network marketing company is a fraud or scam, there is only one way to make money, and that's to recruit people. Rarely to fraudulent MLM companies even have a product. But with USANA, there are six ways to make money:

* Retail sales

* Weekly commissions

* Matching bonus

* Incentives

* Leadership bonus

* Elite bonus

The people who think USANA is a fraud, are usually people who tried to work the business and failed. The failure rate across all MLM companies is very high. Sales is not for everyone, and some people enter the world of network marketing thinking they are going to strike it rich very quickly, with little effort. Success with USANA requires working every single day on making sales and developing a downline.

There are a lot of people who have had success though this business model, so before listening to someone who tells you that USANA is a fraud, it is important to consider whether or not this person truly worked the business, or if they gave up after one month without really trying. Network marketing has winners and losers and like all things in life, some losers are bitter and others simply pick themselves up, shake themselves down and move forward.
