It was actually much better than I had anticipated, especially considering it was a low-cost airline, to fly with Spirit Airlines MAD Terminal. Spirit has received varied reviews in the past, but my experience was flawless from beginning to end. I was able to avoid airport lineups by checking in online the night before, and when I got there, I discovered that the airport employees were courteous and helpful. The self-service kiosks were useful for individuals who required them, and the English and Spanish signs made it simple for me to find my way about. I did have to pay for a carry-on and a checked bag, which I already knew in advance, but the fees were manageable because I added them early online. After checking in, I went through security, which moved fairly quickly, and then spent some time exploring the airport before my flight. There were plenty of cafés and small restaurants to grab something to eat, and even a few shops to browse through while waiting at the gate. The boarding process was organized and didn’t take long, and the gate agents made announcements clearly. The plane itself was clean and well-maintained, and although the seats weren’t overly spacious, they were comfortable enough for the flight. I brought my own snacks and downloaded a movie since there’s no entertainment provided onboard. The flight attendants were courteous and responsive, making sure everyone followed safety protocols. Upon landing, getting through immigration and picking up my luggage was straightforward, and I was impressed by how quickly everything moved. There were plenty of transportation options just outside the airport, making it easy to get into the city. Overall, I’d say Spirit Airlines offers a simple, no-frills experience that works well if you plan ahead and manage your expectations.
