Back Massage Alleviate Hurts Faster

If you are a home-owner (or renter), a parent, a caregiver, heck, even a pet-owner, you are on-the-go! Between carrying groceries or kitty litter, moving car seats, picking up small children, carrying back-packs, you are under physical (perhaps mental) pressure. As a parent, I can attest. If I am not making a bed, cooking meals, taking children from one activity to another, I am doing laundry, feeling my back hurt! This is truly common. My solution? Back massage at my local spa. The more frequent the better.

Spas offer more than just a back massage, from fingers to toes, from back to head. We tend to neglect our backs, even we are always using them. They are used even more than our feet. While I have tried many different massages, and enjoy them all, I feel that a back massage is most beneficial.

You will surely find a caring masseuse who will talk you through your first massage, discuss a variety of lotions and methods, as well as offering a semi-nude option or nude (covered modestly with towels) depending on your level of comfort. I, for one, was quite uncomfortable with the nude option, so first time around went semi-nude. The massage was so, so great! Two weeks later I am still feeling the relaxing, refreshing effect!

When I started complaining to my spouse about my back, he said "take pain relievers". When I spoke with a girlfriend, she recommended (with great sympathy) a back massage. She has been having them frequently for the past year, and has great things to say about them. She especially loves her masseuse, and pretends she's on vacation in the tropics when she is having one.

Don't you love medicine? Would you prefer the massage-fix or long term pain medication? Certainly pain relief has come a long way, but consider this. In 1996, the Atlanta Olympic medical team decided that they would have a masseuse on hand in case of injury.

Even though there are so many forms of massage and it can be performed on any body part, to me, the back massage is the greatest necessity. As a parent, I am constantly carrying heavy items while taxi-ing 3 girls hither and yon.

In order to keep the back healthy, one must stretch. Sure, we drive our children to dance, sports, track and sports, but do we really get what we need? I know personally, I sit through 3 hours of ballet, 4 of music and 2 of tap dance. Does this keep my back healthy? I don't think so.

My little 6 year old will not let me win. I cannot leave her to watch her sisters in their classes, she will not walk with me, she will not ride her bike, sit in a stroller, or even take a piggy-back from me. I must sit. Sit and wait. While they exercise, I sit. And again through her class. And so I go for a back massage time after time, after time.
