subject: Saving Your Marriage After Cheating By Reducing Stress [print this page]

It may seem like it will take a lot to save your marriage after cheating. In fact, it may take more than you realize. For some marriages though, something as simple as reducing the stress levels in the home can make all the difference in the world. It can be the most important factor for some marriages.

Why then can reduction of stress level be important?

Oddly enough, stress is one of the most common reasons for cheating in marriages. Life is stressful. Work is stressful. The last thing people want to do is come home to a home filled with stress at the end of a long day.

How can you reduce the stress in your home so that cheating doesn't become a problem?

There are quite a few things you can do that will reduce stress and make your home the true haven from the world you'd both like it to be. Here are a few small steps you can take in the right direction.

1)Clear out the clutter. Use the two year rule for taming clutter in the home. This rule can help control toys, books, clothes, shoes, trinkets, wires, cords, electronics, etc. If you haven't used it in two years, toss it. Use it in the kitchen to get rid of under-utilized utensils, dishes, tools, trays, and other things that take up valuable space but aren't necessary in your home.

2)Lay out a chore chart for everyone at home. Assign chores according to age, ability, and time constraints. Make provision to award participants in completing their task without being told to do so. This will help out managing the noise from arguing, balk-talking, yelling, fights and eventually result to a clean and comfortable house to home for some relaxation. And for one, everybody would be aware of the things he or she needs to do without the nagging getting involved.

3)Keep a family calendar in the kitchen so that everyone knows what is going on and nothing is missed. When appointments, games, and parent pickup duties get missed, stress happens. Be organized in the planning of your week and make sure that everyone knows what his or her responsibilities are for keeping the week organized.

4)Consider family time in the plan. It's all easy to be caught up with the varying activities planned out. Remember to set aside one night in a week to stay home, enjoy an evening in and take delight in the peaceful bliss with the family. This can be a game night, a TV night, or simply a family dinner night where everybody gets together and prepare dinner. This is the right time to have some fun and be free of stress, thus make your choices accordingly.
