subject: What You Need To Know Before Buying A Refrigerator [print this page]

Be it calling a few friends over for a couple of drinks or cooking something nice for your family or friends or both, a proper refrigerator is a must.

Every house has a fridge; but it is often seen, if the fridge is not of the right kind you need then it is always a big problem. Therefore, this article will introduce to you some popularly sold refrigerator types to help you make the right choice.

Here the freezer chamber is located at eye level and the rest of the space is below it. These fridges can be single-door or double door and are ideal for small families and houses with limited space.

If you have lots of room for a fridge, then go for a side-by-side refrigerator. As the name suggests here the freezer and other racks are located adjacent to one another. These fridges are more like wardrobes, minus the clothes. They are available in large sizes and look good in a well planned kitchen.

Then we have freezer on bottom. This style is constantly growing in popularity. Here the freezer in at the bottom while the refrigerator in on the top. This design is way more convenient also. As the freezer is not that frequently used, you don't have to bend down every time you need some thing. And because the other sections are more often used, it is convenient to have them on the top.

After all, getting items out while standing up straight is infinitely more comfortable than bending down to take them out (as in a fridge with a top-mount freezer).

These fridges also consume lesser electricity because the freezer is easily and quickly chilled being at the bottom. Speaking of electricity you must make sure that the fridge you buy is energy efficient. The Energy Star ratings are a good way to ensure this.

However, you need know what you are looking for, research accordingly and be assured to hit the right product.
