Plastic Surgery Payment Options

In a small percentage of cases, your health insurance company will cover the cost of your plastic surgery procedure. Insurance will cover the cost of aesthetic treatments when they are for reconstructive purposes or to correct a medical issue. Insurance may cover some or all of the costs associated with your surgery is you undergo breast reduction due to back and neck pain, upper eyelid surgery to correct ptosis, breast reconstruction after cancer, or rhinoplasty to clear nasal obstructions. Your health insurance company will review each case on an individual basis and patients must submit medical records that back up their claims. Talk to your primary care physician to find out if you qualify for cosmetic surgery that can be covered by your healthy insurance policy.

In the vast majority of cases, patients pay for cosmetic surgery procedures out of pocket. Because most plastic surgery is considered elective, insurance wont cover any portion of the cost of treatment. Most patients save up for the procedure they desire, or they pay for treatment with a credit card or financing plan. If you are interested in undergoing plastic surgery, talk to a local surgeon to learn more about your payment options.
