subject: Do You Know If Is It Easier To Lose Weight With A Treadmill Or An Elliptical Trainer? [print this page]

Many people are trying to decide if is it easier to lose weight with a treadmill or an elliptical trainer. The fact is that both machines are a good choice for people who want to lose weight and improve their quality of life. Each machine has its own advantages however.

People who love to run will appreciate the running treadmill because people can use it to run on when they cannot run outdoors. Some people skip their workout when it is dark because they are worried about their safety. The treadmill can be used indoors at any hour of the day at night so people do not have to worry about running outside at nighttime.

Many men and women choose not to run outside at night because automobiles pose a danger to runners because drivers have trouble seeing runners on the road in the dark. Many women do not like running outside at night because they are worried about unknown assailants. Running indoors on a machine is a good choice for people who need a controlled and safe workout area.

Elliptical trainers too are a fine option for people who want to exercise in a safe area. The machine is a great pick for men and women who have leg pain that makes running a challenge. The person with leg pain can use an elliptical machine and experience relative pain free workouts.

For instance people with knee pain can use the elliptical machine and not have to worry about undue stress on their knees. Some elliptical workout machines allow the user to use his or her arms during the workout which means that the user will be able to have a total body workout. People who use this trainer can choose to skip the free weights because they can workout their arms and chest on an elliptical machine.

Is it easier to lose weight with a treadmill or an elliptical trainer? It all depends on who is using the exercise equipment and on the intensity of the workout. Before choosing one model over another a person who is looking for the right workout equipment should try out both machines before making a buying decision.
