What is stopping you? Learn to identify your own mental blocks. Have you "Done It", "Plan To Do It" or "Intend To Do It"? Do you deserve a "Just Did It" T-shirt? I saw a fabulous t-shirt today; it had the Nike swish and the words "Just Did It!" Are you looking to get a flat stomach? What is stopping you?

Procrastination and indecision is the thief of time. We all have 24 hours but we are individually responsible as to how we spend those hours. Do you set goals and never keep them? Guilt is a dangerous emotion. I can show you ways to avoid feeling guilty, lose weight, eat what you want and still look great and not a diet pill, food supplement, ab belt, ab rocker or piece of home exercise equipment in sight.

Aim high and reach higher. Set yourself a big audacious aim, or a BAA. Something that makes your heart beat like mad. If you don't; feel excited at the thought of your goal, you won't try and achieve it.

Step 1

Learn to read. Read the labels on ALL the foods that you eat. Be mindful of hidden fats and sugars. I nearly passed out when I read the labels on my usual breakfast cereal. Try and eat foods with less then 2.5g of fat per 100g of food. Think light and eat light. Cooking from scratch affords you much more control over what you eat. This comes from someone who could not even make toast until recently. I make one pot recipes only and guess what I am learning to get a flat stomach. I am much more in control of what I eat as I decide how much fat goes into what I am eating. Not only do I have flat stomach but I am able to teach my family how to get a flat stomach.

Step 2

Variety is truly the spice of life. Get moving, get active, get out, get that heart rate up. I don't care what you do, but get moving. Recently I bought a pair of Shape Ups, similar to MBTs. After only 20 minutes walking around my house, my ass was hurting. They improve posture, improve muscle mass, improve balance and help you get a flat stomach. Amazing and not expensive. Even if they are not in the budget, just get out the door and start walking, running, jogging, trotting or just speed walking. It does not matter but push yourself outside your comfort zone.

Step 3

Watch What You Eat

My sister once said to me "if you can see your teeth marks in the butter, its too much!". I use this a simple guideline. If the layer is of whatever food is so thick, that you can see you teeth in it, then its too much. This can apply to butter, mayonnaise, sauces, chocolate spreads, jams, etc. The list is endless. Using this basic rule of thumb will help you control the quantities that pass your lips and won't end up on your hips and will get a flat stomach for you. Its that easy.
