There are so many definitions of a friendThere are so many definitions of a friend. Online there are sites that cater to "friends" sites only like websites about reunions, classmates, and so on.

There are also sites that offer people a chance to gain new friends. These sites are community sites that allow members to get to know each other online.

But what if people are looking for love but wanting to start it as friendship? Are there sites that have this? Yes, absolutely. These sites are now called online dating sites. Adult online dating sites offers people chance of meeting and dating someone over the Internet.

Just like any other acquaintances, online dating starts with friendship and when two people click; it will eventually lead to romance. There is still a process involved in online dating but depends on how you perceive your goals and intentions.

We will know if we a date once we get to know that someone over a few chats and or enough phone calls. Intimacy can be very well developed online. Once we get to know each other well, it will not be impossible to get romance online.

However, online dating also posts some disadvantages. Given some anonymity, it is quite hard to tell someone if he/she really likes you or not. In addition, you will never know if that person is the one from the photos he/she is showing and if that person tells the truth about one's looks and other physical descriptions.

This is just an example of how Internet dating can be disadvantageous. However, if you are that serious in finding love online, I suggest you push through this. There are certainly risks for everything and that you have to be ready for it.

Online dating can be fun and be so much fun that traditional dating. There are really pros and cons but in the end, you will still have to decide if online dating is for your own good or not. If you feel bad about it, then stop. But if you are interested and wanting to find romance online, then go. In the end, you still have control over what you think is best for you.

Overall, dating sites and phone chatlines are not a bad thing after all. Maybe in the earlier stages of this kind of sites, security and user safety is questionable. But now, companies operating in this kind of business guarantee that users are given lots of choices to either stay anonymous or not when browsing profiles online. They can also reject a chat or phone chat invited if they wanted to. They can even block a specific user from viewing or messaging them. Good luck!
