For most North Americans, obesity is one of the things they have to deal with. While the amount of body fat in most people is enough to make dietitians, physicians, and nutritionists cringe, losing weight may be easier than it seems.

Gaining weight is hard to avoid sometimes, especially when fatty foods are readily available. Avoiding these types of food is possible but most dieters don't have time to calorie count. Unfortunately, that means that even less dieters have the time to go to the gym.

Statistically, your body would need to burn 3500 calories to minimize one pound of fat. Although the numbers are daunting at first, there are multitudes of ways to battle these digits. The simplest method is by creating a deficit in your caloric intake. However, it is necessary to keep in mind how important it is to lose weight healthily. Individuals should not cut back on more than 500 calories every day. Start your amazing weight loss with these small steps in conjunction with the tips from here.

1) Jump start your day by eating breakfast. By eating a nutritious meal at the start of your day, you're subconsciously starting your weight loss. Breakfast plays an important role to our bodies. When you skip breakfast, your blood sugar lowers and you will have less energy and become hungrier. On top of that, your metabolism also slows down which lowers your ability to burn fat throughout the day.

2) Drink water throughout your day. Although this step seems redundant, water actually helps your metabolism burn calories 3% faster, which is not bad for such a simple step. Studies have shown that thirst and hunger sensations may be triggered at the same time. This results in dehydration being mistaken as hunger!

3) Take the stairs instead of the elevator or escalator. This may seem like an overrated step but it is an important one none the less. Most people live hectic lives and may not have time to hit the gym. Walking allows individuals to commit to an easy and necessary exercise. By fitting in an additional 60 minutes of walking a day, individuals can lose up to 35 pounds a year by walking at a brisk pace. And if 60 minutes sounds like a lot, it can be easily broken down to manageable portions. Taking the stairs, walking further to bus stops, or doing small tasks on foot will help you manage your walking routine.

4) Cut back on the portions. Although this tip is the most obvious, most dieters don't realize how difference a smaller portion can make. When eating out a restaurant, try to avoid overly seasoned dishes and instead pick cuisines that are seasoned through natural flavors. Lemon, onions, garlic, and chili are a few examples of the various high impact flavors that are perfect in meals.

5) Set realistic goals for yourself. Although over the top goals are inspiring, most of the time dieters give up before reaching them. By setting realistic goals that you can achieve, you're enabling yourself to feel more motivated and that zing of satisfaction will propel you to higher goals.

Although these five easy steps might not work for everyone, you will probably be able to find at least one that you can use in your daily life and in the end that is the most important advice anyone can offer you.

The first step is always the most difficult. For more information regarding workout plans and healthy eating, visit http://www.whyburnthefat.info for further details on how you can jump start your weight loss.
