subject: Weight Loss Diets That Work: Make Identifying Them Easy [print this page]

We've all heard of our fair share of weight loss diets. There are weight loss diets that work. And there are weight loss diets that definitely don't work. For me...I really only want to be involved in weight loss diets that work. Those others I'd like to avoid at all costs. I hate wasting time and there's no bigger waste of time than dieting with no weight loss results.

The problem is that it's hard to tell which is which; the diets that work and those that don't. Actually, I take that back. It's actually very easy to identify which is which. But it's not easy to see which is which until it's all over and you've either lost weight or you haven't. But it's too late at that point. There's no point in realizing that a diet doesn't work after you've already paid for it, spent your time and effort sticking to it and not lost any weight. And some weight loss programs can be really pricey.

How do we decipher between the two when it will be useful to know the difference? How do we figure it out before we waste any time, money or effort? We can never know for sure what will work for us and what won't because everyone is different. But there are guidelines that will lead us towards the best choices.

Identifying Weight Loss Diets that Work: Hints and Tips:

1. Look for testimonials. Make sure the testimonials that you find have names, locations and a feeling of truth to them. Do they all sound fairly unique? Or do they all have a similar feel and sound? Do they seem to portray real people with real problems?

2. Typical weight loss results should be clearly stated...averages should be provided by the company offering the program or diet. The weight loss may not be guaranteed and the range may be wide, but you should be offered some kind of average. For them to say that people lost a "ton" of weight or "a lot" of weight doesn't really count either. They must give you an actual number.

3. Check for adequate contact information. Don't work with any company that you are not able to get on the phone.

4. The company you work with should provide plenty of helpful tips, advice and industry specific information that will make dieters feel more comfortable in their role as dieter. It should make them dieter have higher chances of success. It should make the dieter feel that all questions are answered regarding the diet and its potential results. And if you don't find the answer you are looking for then you should ask. If the company does not give you a valid answer then you should be forewarned.

5. Common sense can be a great tool in identifying obvious rip offs. Don't pay any money to be on a diet that involves only water and chili powder. Does that sound like a good idea? I don't think so. Don't pay any money to be on a diet that involves only baby food. That's a bit silly, don't you think? We've all been there and done that. Don't ignore your common sense. There are obvious no-no's out there and they're still out there because people still go ahead and try them against all logic.

It's not as hard as we make it out to be to identify weight loss diets that work. They are out there. Dieters are successfully losing weight every day. We just have to carefully make a good decision and then follow it through. Weight loss isn't exclusive (even though at times we all like to think there's a special reason why it avoids us). It's just a result of careful thought and dedication to a program. So...get yourself on a program that works and lose weight. Then you can write a few testimonials of your own.
