Honda Used Cars- The Hybrid Insight

Back in 2000 Honda came out with its first ever hybrid gasoline/electrical powertrain. The famous automaker decided to design a slick new two passenger hatch back coupe, with a very light aluminum frame that has a nice aerodynamic styling to it. Honda used cars like the insight has also won the top EPA (Environmental Protection Agency USA) for top fuel efficiency. This vehicle was really made for short distance driving like going to work or shopping at the mall and saving you money at the pumps. My research will be on the Honda Insight as a used vehicle to look at.

The Honda Insight comes in one trim level but available in both an automatic transmission or five speed manual. Some of the standard things that come with the Insight are air conditioning, locks and mirrors, vanity mirrors, power windows, four speaker AM/FM/CD stereo, remote keyless entry, digital instrument display, reclining bucket seats, single 12 volt power outlet, anti-theft/engine immobilizer, hidden storage compartments and 14-inch alloy tires. Some of the safety features that the Honda Insight has to offer are anti-lock brakes, front air bags and pre-tension seat-belts.

With the Honda Insights aerodynamic design and fuel efficient engine you come away with some impressive fuel stats. There was only one fuel statistic from 2000 to 2006. The Honda Insight had a fuel rating of 3.9-litres, per 100km, for city driving and 3.2-litres, per 100km, for highway driving. With the light aluminum frame combined with a nice fuel friendly design and an engine that hard uses fuel, you couldnt ask for a better vehicle to drive around the city in.

This might very well be one of the smallest engines I have ever done research on. The Insight is powered by a three cylinder, 1.0-litre engine that is tied to an electric motor. It comes standard with a five speed manual transmission and is also available in a continuously variable transmission in the U.S. only. The insight has 73-horsepower, which produces 91 pounds per feet of torque.

Lets talk about some of the pros and cons of the Honda insight as a used vehicle:

1-It was given a good rating by an online leading consumer watch dog as a reliable used vehicle to own.

2-The Honda insights oil pan is known to crack after an oil change.

3-There was no data on any crash tests done to the Insight.

4-In winter driving you have to be careful in driving in deep snow because the under-body covers have been known to break off.

I hope this helps if youre looking at Honda used cars like the Honda Insight.
