Despite the huge diversity of species, Black Walnut (Endriandra globosa), Veiny Lace Flower (Arhidendron Muellerianum), Long-Leaved Tuckeroo (Cupaniopsis Newmanii), and the rare species southern Fontana (Fontainea Australia), were found in the rainforest.

To experience the largest remaining intact stand of Sub Tropical Rainforest in New South Wales, a visit to the World Heritage listed Iluka Nature Reserve just north of Grafton is required, or you can make a day trip to Camp Eden Health Retreat Center to enjoy the distinct coastal vegetation and rainforest types preserved there.

The most conspicuous bird species moving through the property were the scaly-breasted, Trichoglossus chlorolepiotus, and rainbow Trichoglossus haematodus lorikeets and also to be found are several nocturnal bird species. These include the tawny frogmouth owl (Podargus strigoides) and southern boobook (Ninox boobook).

The most significant bird species recorded is the rainforest obligate fruit-doves. These include the wompoo fruit-dove (Ptilinopus magnificus), the rose-crowned fruit dove (Ptilinopus Regina), and the super by fruit-dove (Ptilinopus super bus). Recorded calling from the treetops was the white-eared monarch (Monarcha leucosis).

Cool Temperate Rainforest:

This type of rainforest represented in CERRA, is that of the Cool Temperate Rainforest. It is noted for its commonest and most often only dominant species, the New South Wales in Australia, which is testament to Australia's being part of the southern super continent, Gondwanaland, more than 130 million years ago.
