Best Ideas On Wedding Receptions

I would begin with selecting an appropriate venue. You could choose an old palace, or some friend's huge garden, or a place like Anand Gram with gardens and potters busy with their work or how about a village, that could be lovely. People could roam around the village in their festive ware and chat with the villagers and maybe smoke a hookah with some old gentleman or drink lassi with the biggie wiggies of the village. The party could revolve around the whole village with catering in one corner and the drinks served on charpoys and some low wooden stools as your other seating arrangement. A palace has a haunting effect and this could be decorated with flowers and lights. The guests could even be invited to stay over for the night and enjoy a night at the Palace with its wooded gardens and hosts of entertainment. In a village setting you could invite rural artists for a performance and a bonfire burning with the guests sprawled around it with their dinner plates enjoying the evening flooded with the village music.

You could also look at a plush hotel as the venue if you don't want to get into the botheration of organizing a complicated affair. Here you could choose a theme for your reception like a flower, lets say roses. You could do up the entire hall in roses of different colors and have rose pink table cloths for the dinner tables. Have seating arrangements in the form of low tables and chairs all done up in pink and crme with vases filled with roses as centerpieces. You could have candles lit all around for a classic ambience and have very low lighting. Some classical western or Indian music could be playing in the background. Dinner could be light and it could be a buffet so that the guests stay near the dance floor. You could have rural artists or have salsa dancers or belly dancers perform the most beautiful dances. Then you could have some space for the guests also to dance to music played by a DJ. This could be ball room dancing or the disco to enjoin all the guests.

You could choose color as your theme like for instance aquamarine blue and have dcor of the color, or have contrasting colors to go with it. The flowers could be corn flowers and lilacs and larkspurs and you could have blue candles and floating candles in the centre of the tables. You could have the guests all dressed in blue of various shades and wear a blue dress yourself and have your groom do the same.

The servers could also be asked to wear the same color and have soft music playing in the background and so on.
