Dominican Republic Holidays Go

The Dominican Republics Ministry of Tourism recently announced the launch of their most creative marketing idea since the launch of their award winning website in 2011.

The latest move, in a bid to maintain and build on the Dominican Republic"s reputation as one of the leading Caribbean holiday destinations, is an ad campaign inspired by the social media trends that have taken over the world such as Facebook and Twitter. Using social media terms such as "updating your status", "liking" and "following" as metaphors for the fun-filled Dominican Republic holidays experience, the ad campaign encourages holidaymakers to be social.

"The TV spots and ads rely on social media terms as metaphors for socializing with others about a vacation in Dominican Republic. The social interaction suggests the vacation as something worthy of a status update, both literally and in the Facebook sense. As the power of social media is undeniable, the ads blend technology and social interaction to create value, the value of sharing your experiences with others" stated Magaly Toribio Vice Minister of International Promotion at the Ministry of Tourism.

Developed by BVKmedia, the Dominican Republic Ministry of Tourism"s U.S. and Hispanic marketing agency, the campaign will be launched across a variety of platforms including print via magazines, broadcast, online, and even posted up on New York Times Square billboards. The ads highlight the many activities that travellers can experience during fun Dominican Republic holidays with the slogan "Dominican Republic has it all".

"We're ensuring that the campaign remains unforgettable, yet continues to capture Dominican Republic's one-of-a-kind offerings as the ads' captivating images trigger a need for experience and travel" noted Ms Toribio.

With top destination like Punta Cana, Puerto Plata and the Samana Peninsula visitors have a range of options to choose from when planning holidays to the Dominican Republic. The Caribbean island is not only the ultimate location for holidaymakers craving sun, sea and sand but it is also a prime destination for eco-tourism. Awe inspiring waterfalls, tropical forests and whale watching are just some of the things that Saman has to offer.

Punta Cana, the easternmost province of the Dominican is the perfect spot for visitors hoping to kick back and relax in any one of the many luxurious all inclusive Dominican Republic resorts that the Caribbean island is known for. In addition to first class accommodation and pristine white sand beaches, Punta Cana also boasts over a dozen designer golf courses. No matter where holidaymakers stay in the Dominican Republic, the tourism industry has ensured that they will have an experience worth sharing.
